Chuck Person

As a junior at Auburn, this Brantley, Ala., native set Auburn's single-season records for points scored (747), field goals made (334) and field goals attempted (614). He helped lead Auburn to its first three NCAA Tournament appearances in school history ('84, '85, & '86), as well as helped to direct the Tigers to their 1985 SEC Tournament Championship. Person was named Most Valuable Player of SEC Tournament ('85). He scored in double figures 99 of his last 101 collegiate games. He ranked third on the SEC's all-time scoring list, second on SEC's all-time field goals made (1,017), and third on SEC's all-time field goals attempted (1,809). Person's was honored as Amateur Athlete of the Year in Basketball ('85) by the United States Olympic Committee and was selected to the AP and UPI All-SEC Team for three consecutive years ('84-'86). Persons was the fourth pick overall in 1986 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. He was named NBA Rookie of the Year and played 14 years in the NBA. Currently is an assistant to the President of the Indiana Pacers.
