What: Archaeology Camp

Make intriguing new discoveries of Alabama’s rich cultural past by participating in an archaeological excavation at the Southeast’s premier Mississippian Indian site, Moundville. Spend one or more weeks with scientists and explorers from around the world to work on an actual field research project at the Alabama Museum of Natural History’s Museum Expedition 28: Archaeology Camp.

Who can participate? Anyone interested in archaeology, science or history. Scientists and educators provide leadership for approximately 25 camp members each week. No experience is necessary.

Cost: Program tuition is $400 per week, per person for weeks one through three, and $200 for the mini-week (ask about our members' discount). Accommodations, food and scientific equipment will be provided – a detailed list of what to bring is included in the registration packet.
