Number of days: 3 days/2 nights
Meals: 3 (2 Continental Breakfasts & 1 Dinner)
Itinerary
Day 1:
Brew yourself a fresh pot of coffee and relax on the screened in front porch. Take an evening stroll down a country road and watch Cardinals and Blue Birds at play. Be quiet…you may even spot a herd of deer as they cross the pasture to graze. Dine at a variety of restaurants on Lookout Mountain or in nearby downtown Fort Payne.
Day 2:
Rise to a prepared basket of fruit and pastries for a light breakfast. Plan your days’ adventures of bass fishing from a paddle boat from a stocked lake. Add to your list of things to do by hiking in nearby DeSoto State Park, viewing waterfalls within the park, and taking a scenic 23-mile drive along the rim of the Little River Canyon National Preserve. Wind down for the night with a romantic dinner at Little River Cafe.
Day 3:
Relax on the front porch with your cup of coffee and pastries or head over to DeSoto State Park for a hearty breakfast at the Mountain Inn Restaurant. Follow up breakfast with a hike on the Azalea Cascades Boardwalk Trail. Be sure to take a pair of binoculars on the hike for some serious bird watching and a camera to capture the beauty of this state park, rated a top 10 park in the nation. Make plans before departing to return to this secluded hideaway and enjoy more of what Lookout Mountain has to offer.
