Itinerary
Day 1
Plan on arriving between 3 p.m to 7 p.m. After first arriving to this mountain destination, you might want to schedule a trail ride at the adjacent Dude Ranch. These one and two hour rides lead to lofty views above a deep canyon or follow a path along the Little River. Dining options on the mountain are many and vary from country cooking, to bar-b-cue or steaks and seafood. You may opt to go into downtown Fort Payne for a wide array of choices. Unwind for the evening by sitting in a rocking chair and listening to a chorus of frogs.
Day 2
Rise to the smell of coffee that has been delivered to your front door before heading over to the main house for a hearty breakfast. Relax before starting out on a 10-minute hiking trail at the B&B that leads to a beautiful view of DeSoto Falls. Not many get to view the magnificent waterfall from this vantage point. Depart for a tour of Lookout Mountain to include hiking in DeSoto State Park, traveling the scenic Little River Canyon Rim Road and shopping in the quaint shops in downtown Mentone. Arrive for your pre-scheduled rock climbing or rappelling adventure with True Adventure Sports. All this activity has really worked up an appetite. Return to your B&B to freshen up before heading out to Windwood Farms Restaurant in Mentone for a rewarding dinner.
Day 3
Rise to another hearty meal taking time to relax on the porch after breakfast. Upon departing you might want to plan to visit a nearby caverns or take a hike in the woods near the B&B. Make plans to return. This mountain getaway is beautiful all four seasons and there is always plenty to see and do.
