Captain Cindy Frank and Captain Carol Bramblett are two women who share their love of the water with people by taking them fishing, sailing and cruising on Mobile Bay. Captain Cindy remembers fishing with her dad on the banks of Lake Ponchartrain in New Orleans. However, it was only after her parents settled in Pascagoula, MS, that she really became involved with fishing and sailing. Her early courtship with the outdoors eventually drew her to the Mobile Bay area; the rivers, delta and sound of which are ecologically similar to the area where she grew up. She started Making Waves Charters, Inc., in 1997 by offering scenic boat rides, ecotours, and trips to Middle Bay Lighthouse from the Marriott's Grand Hotel Marina.

Today, with clientele from every state and some foreign countries, she has added inshore saltwater fishing trips to the choices aboard one of two vessels she operates. In addition to her own boats, she handles all the bookings and works as First Deck Officer aboard the 72 foot sailing vessel, the Joshua. This vessel is the Official Tall Ship for the City of Mobile and is the result of a childhood dream of her builder and owner, Captain Carol Bramblett. Without Captain Carol's vision and persistence, the schooner Joshua would never have been completed. Patterned after the coastal schooners that sailed the bay in the late 1800s and 1900s, the wooden vessel carries groups of up to 49 passengers for scheduled or walk-on sails on Mobile Bay. From family reunions to most any fun gathering, Captain Carol will ensure that guests have an entertaining and memorable sail aboard the Joshua.
