Beth Maynor Young is an accomplished photographer who has spent much of her life chronicling the natural beauty and wild places of the South. Focusing on the unique character of Alabama rivers she has a book that will be released in the spring of 2007: Headwaters: Descending the Rivers of Alabama with commentary by Dr. John C. Hall. In 1990, she founded Cahaba River Publishing, a conservation photography firm that supports her life's passion – nature and landscape photography. As an online component to her photography firm, she also created the Kingfisher Editions, where people can go to learn about the many outdoor wonders of Alabama and the South, and purchase her incredible environmental photography. Among her fascinating selections of photographs, note cards and fine art prints are her astonishing images of the Cahaba lilies which grow along the Cahaba River in Bibb County. Her photography gives a moving vision of the natural world and brings identity and recognition to the hidden beauty and biological importance of natural areas in the South.
