Bread Pudding with Lemon Sauce

Ingredients:

Bread Pudding

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 slices bread
  • 1 small can evaporated milk, plus 2 cans of water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

 

Lemon Sauce

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/4 stick margarine
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

 

Directions:

Bread Pudding

Melt butter; add sugar; beat in eggs. Break bread into small pieces and add to egg mixture. Add milk, water and vanilla, mixing all together. (Add a few raisins to bread pudding before baking, if desired.) Bake at 350 degrees until set. 

 

Lemon Sauce

Stir ingredients together and cook 4-6 minutes. Pour over hot bread pudding while sauce is still hot.
