Many people plan their trips along U.S. Hwy. 231 between Montgomery and Dothan so they can stop and eat at Crowe's Chicken in Troy. Some say it's the chicken that brings them in; others say it's the sauce. But for those who know him, it's the owner, Robert Jones, who is the main attraction. Robert receives kudos for the chicken he serves, but his primary service is to his community. He puts thousands of dollars back into the community, adopts families for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and is the first to reach out to those with special needs. Robert began working at Crowe's Chicken in 1982 and became owner in l996. Recognized by Unlimited Magazine as one of the Top 10 chicken restaurants in the U.S., Crowe's continues to be a favorite for students, television crews and snowbirds.
