Reading a book for yourself is one thing. Hearing it read by the person who wrote it is something else entirely. The Author's Symposium in Gilbertown on June 1 and 2 includes that plus a reception, discussion and book signing. On a more religious note, the Advent Lessons and Carol in Birmingham on December 3 is a beautiful service of readings and anthems preparing the way for the coming birth of Christ. And during National Library Week in April, Alexander City will host book signings, poetry readings and special exhibits for the whole family. |
