Lafayette Slept Here

On the evening of April 2, 1825, the famous French hero Marquis de Lafayette stopped on Montgomery's Old Federal Road for food, drink and a night's rest at Lucas Tavern. Historically preserved and moved to the grounds of Old Alabama Town, the tavern will be open for viewing April 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., when "Mr. Lucas" will relive that famous evening for guests to enjoy. Admission, which includes tours of other Old Alabama Town historic attractions, is: $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-18, free to those ages 5 and younger.
