Kwanzaa Celebration
The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute will host a community celebration of Kwanzaa on Tuesday, December 28, 2010. The activities will begin with a hands-on workshop for children at 5:00 p.m. The Family Kwanzaa Celebration at 6:30 p.m. will highlight the principle for the third day of Kwanzaa, “ujima” which means “collective work.” The program will include African music, dance and the candle lighting ceremony.
