The event includes free hands-on activities for all age groups including a scavenger hunt to learn about nature and the environment around us, recycled art projects, painting canvas bags, building pine cone bird feeders and making seed magnets. There will be real live costumed characters like Treeture, Smokey Bear, and Ruby Raindrop,. Also, door prize giveaways throughout the day. Entertainment includes local bands. All these activities are provided by over 60 non-profit environmentally- focused organizations to help us all learn about Alabama’s natural resources, its plants and animals, and the important environmental issues facing our communities. Leading local experts highlight what is being done to protect, conserve, and treasure our land, water, and air, so bring your curiosity and questions. The largest Earth Day celebration in the state, this is the 11th annual Earth Day at The Gardens which will be held rain or shine.
