Bob Hastings is a retired college professor and is currently working with the Alabama Natural Heritage Program as the coordinator of the state’s red –cockaded woodpecker Safe Harbor program. He is also an Authority on the biodiversity of Alabama and the SE U.S. He presents numerous educational talks and slide shows on the snakes of Alabama. He has received numerous awards for environmental education, including the 2002 National Wetlands Award in Education/Outreach by the Environmental Law Institute.Bob has been a member of the Alabama Sierra Club state Executive Committee since 2003 and is a member of the National Sierra Club’s Environmental Quality Strategy Team.
