The State of Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in partnership with the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail proudly announces the 3rd Annual Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Team Championship Tournament to be played on nine of the Trail sites all on one day Monday October 4, 2010, beginning at 1:00 p.m. This event is described as “The World’s Largest Shotgun Start Tournament” and could be the largest golf tournament of any kind held in Alabama, particularly when considering both numbers and geography. This is the first time in the Trail’s history that nine sites from Muscle Shoals to Mobile will be used for one charity event all in one day. Over a thousand players are expected to participate in this one of kind event. The low gross and low net winners from each of the nine sites will be invited to come to Birmingham on Sunday, October 18 for a reception at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame museum with many of the Hall of Fame inductees, and then on Monday, October 19 they will play the beautiful Ross Bridge course to determine the low gross and low net ASHOF Team State Champions. It is a four-person 18-hole Scramble. Team select the participating Robert Trent Jones Trail site of their choice. Team will be handicapped. Ladies play ladies tees; men through the age 64 play regular tees; men 65 and over play senior tees. The team with the lowest gross score and the one with the lowest net score will be declared Local Champions.
