For weeks, the streets are filled with the sights and sounds of live marching bands, brilliant-colored floats and teemnig crowds of parade gowers. The floats are glowing spectacles manned by masked rides festooned in satin and sequins and armed with crow-pleasing throws, including beads, moon pies, doubloons and candy.
