Cheaha

Cheaha State Park is located close to Delta, Alabama, about 25 miles from Anniston, Alabama. It is situated on top of Cheaha Mountain at 2,407 feet above sea level; making Cheaha Mountain the highest point in Alabama. This large plateau rises out of the much smaller surrounding hills of the Talladega National Forest. This 2,799-acre mountaintop retreat provides awesome scenery. You will find some nice bluffs, overhangs and several boulders for a climber to spend many hours exploring. Climbing at Cheaha State Park can be a very convenient experience; there are picnic areas, lodges, campgrounds and a golf course. Cheaha is well suited for beginners and many of the climbs fall somewhere in the easy range with convenient Top Rope set up. Most of the climbs are undocumented. The area is used for educational / institutional climbing classes.
