Bridgeport Train Depot Museum

After being idle for over 30years, the Bridgeport Depot has been restored and now houses the Bridgeport Area Historical Association offices, a museum of local artifacts and railroad memorabilia, and a historical research library for Bridgeport and area history buffs as well as genealogy buffs. There are records that go back to 1807, Bridgeport News issues back to 1891, Post Office records, tax records, business charge account ledgers, War Between the States records, and much more.

Operation Schedule:
Open Th & F 9-1, Sat. 9-3; Sun. 1-5.
Directions:
From Huntsville, take I-565E until it becomes US 72E, continue on US 72E to Stevenson. Approximately 58 miles. At Stevenson take the AL 277 ramp, keep right at the fork in the ramp. Continue to Bridgeport. About 7 miles. At the red light at Bridgeport, turn right onto Broadway Avenue. Continue to the 4 way stop, turn right onto 7th St. Go to the next stop and turn left onto Alabama Avenue. Continue on Alabama Avenue thru town until you reach the depot. About 1/2 mile.
